Very nice.

Chiptunes aren't usually very emotional. this one is. And it's awesome.

Tobuscus is awesome.

And so are you, for making this.

Nice!

Instrument choice really sounds like Zelda. I love those games :D

Good work, the mixing is pretty good and, like I said, instruments are great.

Thank you very, very much.

Oh, and thank you to everyone else who has recently left a review on this remix. They have all been positive!

As a matter of fact, since this is one of the most popular songs on Newgrounds, you all have my permission to use this remix for whatever you want. Please. This is yours.

Thanks again!

Very cool.

This would make a really good song to play in a videogame imo. Dunno why, it just seems like it would work.
Like a futuristic Square Enix-type game, lol

Anyways,

I tried it on audio surf and it worked well, if that counts lol. :P

Thanks for the review!

Haha, awesome.

Pretty cool :D
There are lots of remixes of In the Hall of the Mountain King, this one's really good imo.
The orchestra hits are a good touch.
Every once in a while the drums kinda screw with your perspective and it sounds really cool, so good work.

(Also, A Night On Bald Mountain is a totally different song. Just sayin')

Work on the mixing a little and this will be a little better.

Haha, awesome.

I really like the super-sidechained choir-ish pad you have at the beginning.

Overall this is pretty awesome! :D

I LOVE 7/4

One of my favorite time signatures lol.

I agree with DrMackFoxx, imo this would work very well in a retro-ish sidescroller.

Good work!

Cool!

I really like this one.
Mixing's superb, which is always a big plus in my book.
The percussion samples are really nice dude, the snare rolls are really a good touch imo.
Bonus points on adding that church bell, no song like this is complete without one, haha

Anyways, this is really great. I can't really think of anything you could improve because it sounds so good already.
I'm really liking your ambient approach, you should definitely explore that genre some more because I love this sound.

Gario responds:

I actually have another rendition of this track that's cleaner & sounds more ambient... but it's being used as a part of a game soundtrack, so I don't want to post it quite yet. So yeah, I made it more ambient already :P

Thanks :)

Max Payne!

I love Max Payne.
It's awesome.

Anyways, this is a real cool song. I like the slight...phaser? (I think it's a phaser, correct me if I'm wrong) you have on the strings. The drums are awesome, the kick has this nice slight bassiness to it, it acts as more of a pulse than a kick drum (which is cool). That pipe-y sample (comes in at 1:00) that goes with the percussion is also great. Mixing's nice too. May I ask what game it is btw?
Anyways, awesome.
